Asha Bhosle Anuradha Paudwal Controversy: In the 50’s, Lata Mangeshkar had become a popular singer of Hindi cinema. During the same period, her younger sister Asha Bhosle also made her debut. Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar ruled the industry for years and we got to hear many of their great songs.
In the 80’s, a singer named Anuradha Podwal came and she sang a lot of songs in the 80’s and 90’s and created a stir. Then Anuradha Podwal suddenly stopped singing for films.
Many people felt that there was a conspiracy behind all this. But it was not clear why Anuradha Paudwal stopped singing in films. Let us tell you about the controversies that are talked about in media reports about Asha Bhosle and Anuradha Paudwal.
Early Career of Anuradha Paudwal
Arun Podwal used to work as a composer in the office of famous music composer SD Burman. In 1969, Alka Nadkarni got married to Arun Podwal and he named his wife Anuradha who also became famous in the film industry. Arun wanted his wife to sing songs for films, so he introduced Anuradha to SD Burman.
Anuradha Podwal first got a chance to sing a small song in the 1973 film Abhimaan which was in Sanskrit. After this, Anuradha Podwal sang songs for Marathi films for many years but she got a song in the 1983 film Hero. When ‘Tu Mera Jaanu Hai’ came in Anuradha Podwal’s voice, it created a sensation and people started talking about this voice all around the film industry.
Asha Bhosle and Anuradha Podwal story
According to media reports, once Asha Bhosle went to SD Burman’s office for recordings. When she saw Arun Podwal there, she scolded him for something and asked the security to send him out. Later it was told that Asha Bhosle was angry that Arun launched his wife in the film industry, although no clear statement came out on this.
Later when Anuradha Podwal came to know about this, she was very sad and she mentioned this in one of her old interviews. Anuradha Podwal considered Lata Mangeshkar as her Guru, so she could never speak openly about this. But in conversations, she often mentioned that the songs which Lata ji or Asha Tai were singing were recorded by her but they were replaced. However, no official proof of this was found.
She broke down after her husband’s death
It is said that in the 90’s, Gulshan Kumar supported Anuradha Paudwal a lot and made her sing songs in many of his films. In 1991, when Anuradha Paudwal’s husband died in an accident, she became very sad. Anuradha always called Gulshan Kumar Gulshan Bhai but many people defamed his name.
Anuradha Podwal was so saddened by these things that by 2000 she decided not to sing in films and sang only devotional songs. Anuradha Podwal never complained to anyone and even today she respects Lata ji and Asha ji. Anuradha Podwal became the queen of devotional songs and sang different types of devotional songs in every language.
